My guest was Chantal Harvey.  We talk about musical influences within her Machinimas, 48Hour Film Project, Mamachinima  Film Fest and using Second Life as a medium to make Machinimas.

Creep

Creep (Radiohead) - Scala & Kolacny Brothers from Alex Heller on Vimeo.
I just love this interpretation of RadioHead's song entitled Creep, as well as the wonderful obsessive filming that is used here.  I too made a film featuring the song Creep http://vimeo.com/12883533 , was posted earlier.

My 48Hour Film Project 2010 Experience

On the weekend of the September 17-19 I participated in the 48Hour Film Project. http://mamachinima.blogspot.com/ Where I and 21 other teams, after given a film genre, prop, line and character name, had 48 hours to write, direct, score, produce, build, etc.... a film with the given parameters. I drew Film Noire as my genre. We all had the same prop which was water, line "There is one thing I can do that you can't", and central character named Jack or Jackie Schmidt. Only the genres were different. I decided to work alone , where most teams had a team.

I used the German Expressionistic interpretation of Film Noire as a symbolic, nihilistic and ambiguous view of life.

My film won first runner up! I was very happy with that. One of the judges this year was the Filmmaker Peter Greenaway. It was an added bonus to have him look at my film and offer constructive criticism. The whole experience has been very valuble to me and I hope to become a better filmmaker because of it. http://nwn.blogs.com/nwn/2010/09/peter-greenaway-machinima-contest.html#more
